Our Story

We’re Wool Hugger, a family business based in the heart of North Yorkshire who are passionate about wool!

With a history of working with British Wool that goes back three generations, there’s not a lot that we don’t know about our favourite sustainable fibre. Our journey began with trading British Wools, then wools from around the world and before long, we turned to sourcing & developing specialist wool yarns and textile products such as wool carpets, wool floor rugs, wool throws and blankets.

In 2024, we began on our most exciting project to date, designing and developing the world's first official Shaun the Sheep in 100% wool!  We even produced Shaun's good friend Shirley the Sheep to keep him company (yes, also 100% wool... and lot's of it, she's a whopper).

While we celebrate all things woolly, we especially love British Wool and try support British sheep farmers as much as possible. We strive to create high-quality, natural, safe products that will stand the test of time with minimal-to-no microplastics.
